Notes on the Exodus (59)

“Exposing the exodus”

The way, the truth and the life!

The Arch Liar  (Chapter 5 Verses 1-9)

The words of Pharaoh come from the pit, from the arch liar (v5). But here lies what is ever the effect of rejecting God’s testimony. Resisting the light always increases the darkness. Turning from the truth more than ever brings a person under the power of the arch liar, the devil, Satan. Disobedience opens the door of the soul to enemy of man’s soul. The sun melts wax but it also hardens clay. Instead of setting us free it increases our burdens. Refusal to repent will lead to more impenitence, more defiance, more lawlessness, until excepting for rare occasions, the Lord abandons and leaves us to suffer the rewards of our iniquities. Of course the entire Egyptian empire is under the sway of the evil one (1John 5:19). It is thoroughly pagan, pantheistic to the core of its being. The Christian religion, biblical faith, is defined by submission to what is ultimate, the Sovereign of the universe. But humanism, the Egyptian dynasty, and its society are diametrically opposed to that. It is ant-God. It is a society that seeks to be control of itself, for they themselves to be in the place God. Of course this permeates every sphere of our society today, at every level, politics, education, science, yes even the church too, wherever the sovereign God of the universe is not served, obeyed.

This paganism, humanism is from below, we will soon see this in the influence of the magicians, who with their magical powers seek to counterfeit the works of God and to be in control. But again, it is from below, it is demonic. When politicians, scientists and the educational establishment seek to play God, they enter the same arena. They are seeking to control people from below. This influence is being seen more and more in our schools, colleges and universities where everything is viewed and taught through the lens of evolution. It is not a theory, it is a lie from the pit of hell, and means by which the state, man without God, seeks to control mankind from below, and not from above. This is Satan’s vision to bring God’s created order back to the chaos (Genesis 1:2). God, however has other plans.
