Brother Mike can oft be heard,
For the people of Taunton, he long has cared;
Telling of Jesus the mighty to save,
Who defeated death and arose from the grave.
He told them Mohammed’s in his tomb,
So in their lives they shouldn’t give him room;
Christ is alive forevermore,
So he’s the One you ought to adore.
Brother Mike’s love and cpassion,
Seeking to save and from certain damnation;
Wasn’t received in the way he intended,
The people he loved were greatly offended.
They watched and listened one and all,
Recording and filming, desiring he should fall;
He spoke of the truth, and error too,
He held back nothing, as he’s supposed to do.
Long, long ago in England’s fair land,
Mike would’ve been loved and thought to be grand;
Alas those days are long lost and gone;
The glory’s departed and the light that once shone.
Mike’s been arraigned in court must appear,
The truth of the Bible that Christians hold dear;
It’s no longer wanted in Taunton Town,
They’d rather be amused by some local clown.
Whatever the outcome in Taunton’s court,
Our brother Mike’s got our overwhelming support;
Jesus won’t leave him, and neither will we,
We stand with our brother on bended knee.
Well, for now, it’s done, this case has been won,
But for street preaching men like Mike, it ain’t no fun;
For freedom of speech, and gospel-preaching men,
A great big thank you to “Christian Concern.”
