Where did it go, where did it go, that grace that once so freely did flow,
I take the blame for Adam’s sin, awful mess this world is in;
My children’s pain, their broken lives, seem to pray so much in vain,
I’m the one, I’m the cause, of all the woe, where did it go, where did it go?
Where did it go, where did it go, that grace was mine, was mine, I know,
So blessed, so free, so Jesus, my all and my perfect plea;
I know that I’m the one to blame, I hear their constant cry, “it’s me”, “it’s me”, or so they claim,
O grace where did you go, where did it go, where did it go?
Where did it go, where did it go, that grace I first did come to know,
It once was strong and in full flow, now it seems so very low;
For all the world and true belief, it seems there is no true relief,
The shame, the guilt, the sorrow, O where did it go, where did it go?
Where did it go, where did it go, that grace I thought would always flow,
A Church which once was O so kind, I thought that love was truly blind;
Abounding peace and happiness, a life of utter lightsomeness,
Disappeared! O where’s that glow? Where did it go, where did it go?
