v1 O Lord our Lord, how excellent,
In all the earth is Your high name;
Your glory in the heaven’s You’ve set,
Revealing Lord, Your works sublime.
v2 From out the mouths of babe and child,
You’ve ordered they should give You praise;
Hushing the voices that run wild,
Who up against Your rule would rise.
v3 When I reflect upon Your heaven’s,
Your handiwork, the moon and stars;
All set and ordered by Your hands,
How wonderful Your works they are.
v4 O what is man that You should think,
Be mindful of a mortal being;
The son of man upon him look,
That You should be to him caring.
v5 For You have made him just beneath,
A little lower than angels down;
Glory to him is Your bequeath,
And with Your honour man You crown.
vv6-8 You put him over everything,
All things you’ve put beneath his rule;
Sheep, cattle, birds and everything,
Fish of the sea and animals.
v9 O Lord our Lord how excellent,
Is Your high name in all the earth;
Your glory in the heaven’s You’ve set,
Revealing Lord, Your works sublime.
