There is a place most wonderful,
No pain, no trials, no unbelief;
Just peace and rest, and perfect bliss,
From all our grief most sweet relief.
There is a place where Jesus dwells,
No sin, no lies, no wicked sneers;
The Lamb, the throne, yes, only God,
And all his saints and all their cheers.
There is a place of perfect rest,
Of shining glory, Jesus’ face;
No dark, no sin, no lack of love,
Just Jesus, and eternal bliss.
There is a place of colour bright,
Where joy is full, and never quenched;
God fills the place, his radiant light,
His Son, his name is ever praised.
There is a place, it is called heaven,
Where Jesus is, where he’s supreme;
This world, with all its lusts and pain,
Will simply fade, be like a dream.
There is a place I want to go,
But not because it’s just a place;
My Saviour God, I want to know,
And to behold his lovely face.
